WHSV: Meet John Reid, the GOP candidate for Lieutenant Governor

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - The countdown is on to Election Day in Virginia, and the nominees for three crucial state positions have been decided.

On Nov. 4, voters in the commonwealth will choose a governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general.

John Reid, the Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, describes himself as an “American Patriot, Reagan Conservative [and a] Virginia Gentleman.”

Reid sat down with WHSV’s Caleb Peek for a discussion about Reid’s life, background and beliefs — including his time as an intern for former President Ronald Reagan, his eight-year stint as a talk show host on WRVA radio and his 10-debate challenge for Ghazala Hashmi, his opponent in the race.
